We Were Liars- e. lockhart
STOP EVERYTHING and read this book!! Seriously, this one blew me away. The ending was so shocking, so tragic, but amazing. I LOVE being really surprised by the ending of a book, and this novel seriously made me want to go back and reread every page for clues once I knew how it ended. If you enjoy a mystery, some romance, and crazy family dynamics, this book is for you or your students! It features protagonist, Cadence Sinclair, the granddaughter of a very wealthy family who summers on their private island off Martha’s Vineyard. Throughout the entire novel, readers wonder what made Cadence suddenly sick and what the “accident” was that changed her life so abruptly. Despite the low reading level of this book, it has some mature content and difficult figurative language, so it is a book I recommend to only my mature students who are also strong readers. #mystery #tragedy #realisticfictionI definitely recommend you take a look at my book talk slideshow presentation in my free resources folder .
